Modalities
At C.E.S., we use a wide range of modalities to assist in your recovery
Ultrasound
Therapeutic Ultrasound is used to promote circulation, which will in turn help reduce inflammation and improve healing. It may also be used to create a thermal effect to aid in scar breakdown.
Paraffin Wax
Paraffin Wax is used as a source of therapeutic heat for extremities. It is mainly used for hands and can be especially beneficial in arthritic populations.
IFC / TENS
Electrotherapies such as Interferential Current (IFC) or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) use electric current to stimulate nerve fibres, which will then help decrease and control pain.
Laser
Therapeutic laser is used to promote cell growth and reproduction which helps improve tissue healing.
Mechanical Traction
Mechanical traction is used to provide a consistent and controlled pull along your body. This can help open up joint spaces between your vertebrae, and help loosen up stiff muscles along that area.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is used to help improve chronic musculoskeletal conditions. It can be used for myofascial trigger points, tendinopathies, activation of muscles and connective tissues, and break down of scar tissues.
