3 Stretches to Relieve your Low Back Tightness!


Want to have a great start of the day? Try these 3 simple stretches with me to help loosen up your low back and glutes!


1. KNEE TO CHEST STRETCH



- While Lying on your back, hold your knees and gently pull them up towards your chest.

- Hold for 30 seconds, and repeat 3 times

- Repeat on the other side



2. PIRIFORMIS STRETCH





- While lying on your back, hold your knee with one hand and your ankle with the other. Pull your leg up and over towards the opposite shoulder as shown.

- Hold for 30 seconds, and repeat 3 times

- Repeat on the other side



3. OPEN BOOK STRETCH



- Start by lying in the position shown in the top picture on your side with your arms out straight and one hand on top of the other. Roll your body backward as shown in the bottom picture keeping one arm still and moving the other arm backwards toward the mat/bed (like opening a book). You should feel a gentle stretch across your back.

- Hold for 30 seconds, and repeat 3 times

- Repeat on the other side
